I am a 3rd grade teacher at May Community Academy on the west side of Chicago. I have been teaching for 5 years. During this time I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade.

I received my Master's Degree 3 years ago from Olivet Nazarene University. I took a short course in HTML and really enjoyed creating web pages. Unfortunately, the class went by fast and I became busy with other course work along with regular teaching responsibilities. I never took the time to become better aquainted with web page development. I am very excited about being part of the WIT program because it will give me the opportunity to develop an online curriculum that I can use this fall with my students.

My Curriculum Web will be based on the story Charlotte's Web. Every year I read chapter books to my students, and this is one they really enjoy. Some of the topics I plan to incorporate into this unit are friendship, farms, and spiders.
