This course focused on strategies for integration of technology into classroom practice. Students explored a variety of teaching strategies and pedagogical approaches for implementing technology use across the curriculum. The student designed and implement lessons demonstrating appropriate ways to use technology to meet existing curricular objectives and to expand curricular options. Students designed and implemented professional development plans for helping other teachers develop these skills.

Rationale:

ISTE-TF.1 STANDARD: Technology Operations and Concepts -- Educational technology facilitators demonstrate an in-depth understanding of technology operations and concepts.
In this project I showed my in-depth knowledge of a cutting edge trend in education, a Podcast.

ISTE-TF.2 STANDARD: Planning and Designing Learning Environments and Experiences -- Educational technology facilitators plan, design, and model effective learning environments and multiple experiences supported by technology.
This project also demonstrated several technological issues that worked together to create a final lesson resulting in a student produced Podcast of their portfolio.

ISTE-TF.3 STANDARD: Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum -- Educational technology facilitators apply and implement curriculum plans that include methods and strategies for utilizing technology to maximize student learning.
I created a lesson plan reviewing the possible issues involved in creating a Podcast.

ISTE-TF.4 STANDARD: Assessment and Evaluation -- Educational technology facilitators apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation strategies.
A rubric was created to assess student portfolios.

ISTE-TF.5 STANDARD: Productivity and Professional Practice -- Educational technology facilitators apply technology to enhance and improve personal productivity and professional practice.
As part of the lesson a professional development component was developed to assist fellow teachers on the value of Podcasts.

Reflection:

To reflect on the final project, I feel that the lesson was a success on some levels. They were able to create a visual and audio portfolio of their artwork that they can show to their peers as well as prospective colleges. I have learned to instruct them on a more creative level, not simply click and drag your images. “Lets look at how we can make your PodCasted Portfolio different and more personal than the next person.” I will spend time showing them how to create more exciting backgrounds for their images using Adobe PhotoShop.
