The Task

Due to rapidly decreasing natural resources, the Chicagoland area has determined that a new alternative fuel energy power plant needs to be built. Your task will be to research the different types of alternative energies and decide which source would best suit the area. After you research, you will create a presentation to show to the city of Chicago.

The presentation must include, but not be limited to:

· Introduction explaining the alternative energy you chose and why

· An explanation of how this alternative energy works

· The history of the alternative energy (include geographical sites that have used this form of energy)

· The cost of the alternative energy (include equipment, site costs, cost to consumer)

· Overall effects of the alternative energy

· Closing statement summarizing your overall findings

o Please include 3 or more visual aids supporting your research (video, worksheets, tables, models, etc)

The presentation should last 8 to 10 minutes and it should cover all of the above information.

Each group will also turn in a research paper that includes the same information in written format. The format for the paper is as follows:

· Cover page that includes the name of the project, member names, and date of project

· 2-3 pages long (not including the cover page)

· 1” margins

· 12 point font (Times New Roman or Arial)

· Bibliography
