Welcome to Natasha Martin's Technology In Education Portfolio!

I began the Technology In Education program at National Louis University in September 2004. In the same month I became the technology teacher/technology coordinator at an elementary school within the Chicago Public School system.

This electronic portfolio is a collection of nine benchmark assignments (artifacts) that I have completed, with three additional assignments that I wanted to include. In completing these benchmark assignments, I have demonstrated an in-depth understanding of technology operations and concepts. Each benchmark assignment (artifact) relates to at least one of the ISTE Technology Facilitation Standards and demonstrates technology integration within a curriculum. In the past two years, the TIE program has given me the opportunity to demonstrate my professional growth and practice. I have developed a curriculum web and other professional development activities that teachers in my school have been able to utilize. I have learned and been able to model advanced features of word processing and desktop publishing to develop professional products. I have also implemented Apache Web Server in my computer lab which has made teaching a lot easier. I have been able to implement many of the assignments into my own technology curriculum.

I would like to thank my family and friends for their support in completing this program, my classmates for their help and my professors who have assisted with the development of my knowledge of technology integration. A special thanks to the administration, teachers, and students that allowed me to use them as my personal guinea pigs in the completion of this program.
