Introduction

If you have been wondering how to weave technology into the teaching and learning taking place in your classroom, creating photo movies is a simple and effective way to start.

A photo movie consists of a selection of digital images shown in sequence with enhancements such as special movement effects, graphics, music, and voice narration.  Using a program such as Microsoft PhotoStory 3, anyone can turn a set of pictures into an engaging movie that can serve a variety of purposes.  Photo movies can be used to commemorate a school year, highlight the important parts of a field trip, introduce new content, transport students to places never before viewed, and bring stories to life.

Using Photo Movies in the Classroom is a curriculum web designed to lead educators through the process of creating photo movies and making decisions about how to apply this technology in their classrooms.

Please read the teaching guide before beginning the activities.
