How to Locate
a
book in our library ?
You can find most books on the shelves in our school Library and many other libraries because of Dewey Decimal Classification(DDC). DDC organizes and keeps all the books in order. Librarians and clerks use the DDC to locate and reshelve books in the library. When you ask where a book might be found, librarians know where to begin.
How are the books arranged in our Library?
Reference (Around and behind the reference desk)
Nonfiction (Most of
them are at the right section of the library, 800s are at the left section
of the library)
Fiction (at the left section of the library)
Black history collection (Inside the computer lab)
Drinking, drug and pregnancycollection
(In front of the circulation desk)
One last note
For non-fiction, the call number is Dewey Decimal number + the first three letters of the author's last name. It is always labeled on the lower level of the spine of a book.
