Implementation Plan: Webquest

Where will I conduct the WebQuest? I plan on implementing this webquest towards the end of the first semester (January, 2004) of the upcoming school year. _____________________________________________________________
Which students are performing the WebQuest (class type and grade level)? This Webquest will be performed by my Spanish 2 Regular class. I taught this class last year and about 30% of my students had some type of diagnosed learning disability.
How many computers will be used? This will depend upon lab availability.  If I am able to secure the main computer lab, there should be enough computers for everyone (about 30). If the main computer lab is not available, I may need to settle for a smaller computer lab in which students would need to pair up.
What is the Computer-to-Student Ratio? It depends on computer lab availability. See above.
Who will test my WebQuest? I will ask Darlene Delaney, a WIT mentor who is also a foreign language teacher at my high school, to test my Webquest.
How will I present the WebQuest to my students? I will give them a handout with due dates for different parts of the project and the website address to begin work.
How will I prepare my students technologically?

I think that most of the students can handle the technology issues presented in this webquest, except perhaps for transfering images, for which I will make a handout.  I may make a special handout for LD students, too.
What is my back-up plan if I cannot get access to the technology as planned? We have several computer labs, so this shouldn't be an issue as long as I have reserved them in advance.  However, I plan on researching related videos that can be shown in case of a conflict.
Who can I ask for technological assistance? The computer lab coordinator or Darlene Delaney, WIT mentor and fellow foreign language teacher at Hyde Park High School.
How will I monitor the students during the WebQuest? The main computer lab has a raised stadium-style set-up.  I will set up shop towards the top of the "stadium", where I can better view all the monitors and circulate from time to time to assist students with problems.
What is my plan for students who misbehave? They will receive a "0" for the day for their class participation grade.
What follow-up activities will the students perform?

We may take a field trip to a Spanish restaurant and put our webquest to use.
When/Where can I get extended computer access? There are several computer labs available during school hours.
What are some back-up sites the students can visit, if necessary? Students will be reminded that public libraries have internet access.
How will I assess student progress?

See the webquest's rubric.
How will I allow for feedback? Students will be given an evaluation at the end of the webquest or can e-mail me at the link on the "Student" title page.
