BROWSERS

You need browser software to view pages published on the Internet.
Netscape and Internet Explorer are the most popular browser software available today.

Refer to #1 for Netscape 4.5 and 4.6's Web Site Information feature.

Refer to #1 to download the current version of either browser.

BROWSERS ARE CAPABLE OF:

finding any of the millions of pages on the Internet

translating the coded information

displaying text, graphics, color, video clips, etc., etc.

BROWSERS DIFFER IN HOW THEY:

Display web pages; therefore, viewers see web pages differently

Visually indicate when web pages are fully loaded

Bottom of computer screen has status bar

Status bars differ in browsers

Indicates status of page as it is loading and when "Done"

Top right of screen has Netscape icon or Internet Explorer icon

Netscape icon has flying comets which stop when page is loaded

Internet Explorer icon has spinning earth stop when page is loaded
