Thank you for visiting my compendium of eclectic information. I'm hoping that you're able to get to know me by exploring that which interests me.

I live just a quick skip north of Chicago in the suburbs with my wife, Kelly. She is an amazing person. As you read on, you'll realize just how awesome she is in that she supports me in all of my indulgences. She is patient, understanding, and even enthusiastic in  all  most of my interests! We live with our two Chihuahas, Ruby and Oscar, and our housecat, Mr. Furley.

Professionally, I teach high school English and coach football. Since I was a kid, I have wanted to be a teacher, and I can truly say that I'm living the dream.

On the side, I'm an avid collector of wristwatches, particularly vintage pieces. I tinker a bit with the pieces I find, doing basic repairs and refurbishing. I love being able to bring these miniature marvels of engineering and design back to life. You can see me at all the local flea markets, swapmeets, and garage sales looking for mechanical treasures; I am an eBay fanatic.

My newest hobby is creating a photo archive of my watch collection. If you'd like a look at some of my collection, please visit my Watch Photo Gallery.

Otherwise, I'm a consumer of all things pop-culture, expecially from yesteryear. I am fascinated with mid-century design and anything from my 80's childhood. I am an avid reader, video-game player, and film-watcher.

Although I've separated my career from my interests on this site, they really could be one and the same. If I could teach and coach for fun, I would. If I could repair watches, blog about pop culture, engage in philanthropy, or be a consumer as a career I would go for it. Unfortunately, the restraints of reality make it necessary to earn a living; I am a much better teacher and coach that I am watchmaker/philanthropist/blogger/consumer.
