Activity 3: Exposing Intelligent Design

In this activity you will view videos that were created by Expelled Exposed. Expelled Exposed was created by the National Center for Science Education in response to Ben Stein's Movie, "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed." You will also complete and Online Evolution Lesson that will you help deal with current issues revolving around evolution.

1. Visit or Teaching Evolution in the Classroom blog and watch two youtube videos and write your thoughts and post to the blog.


2. Complete the following Online Evolution Lesson from Nova Teach Evolution.
   After completing this session, you will be able to:
   
   • describe the theories of evolution and intelligent design and explain why parents filed a legal suit against the Dover Area School District to prevent intelligent design from being taught;
     
   • evaluate the nature of science and the major arguments of intelligent design;
     
   • explain why intelligent design is not science;
     
   • explain the major concepts and theories in evolutionary biology, particularly as they relate to challenges by intelligent design proponents;
   • and generate strategies for eliciting students' ideas about evolution and intelligent design.
