The "Is It Alive or Isn't" Web Curriculum will be used as a supplement to the Science Curriculum on living and non-living things, which I will use in my Second Grade classroom. Because there are no computers in my classroom, I will have to collaborate with the Media/Computer teacher when students will use this online curriculum. Ideally, students will use the web curriculum on a weekly basis while at school. Since Science is typically taught on Monday on the following day or next Science period, students will be asked to begin the web curriculum with the review section and then will be able to proceed through the student center doing the activities and assessment in sequential order as presented on the site. The anticipated length of using this curriculum is four weeks. (Note: Students can use the Collaboratory Project as a safe environment to communicate,e-mail others or store work, if the school doesn't have a drive designated for student work.) |
