Rationale

I think teachers should try to keep up with the ever changing technology in todays world. I believe that using technology in the classroom helps keep our students actively involved.   I would like to provide a simple and effective way to educate teachers on podcasting.  After teachers understand what podcasting it, I want the teacher to decide if implementing podcasting into their curriculum is a good fit or not.

Instructional Plan

This curriculum web is designed to be simple and effective.
I have provided three activites and a culminating activity.

Activity #1

In this activity you will read and understand what podcasting is and some of the basic term

Activity #2

This lesson provides a video for the you to watch. You will learn the three important steps that are required to make a podcast.

Activity #3

Now the fun part, you will make a basic podcast.  After viewing a tutorial you will create your first podcast.

Culminating Activity

In this activity we are going to work on making a more professional podcast.  After this activity the user can browse through articles on podcasting in education to help implement podcasting into your classroom.

This is a project based curriculum web.  It is designed so that the user can complete the activity without any outside help. however working through these activites with another educator would be a great idea.  Working together on creating podcasts will allow for collaboration which could result in a better end product.

Plan for Assessment and Evaluation

Learners will complete each activity one at a time to learn more about podcasting. Once they have completed the three activity they will move on to the culminating activity to create a final project.

Upon completion of this curriculum web, the learner will be able to identify the three steps recommended to make a podcast.  The learner will also self-assess their learning based on completing a project on their own.  Learners will also decide whether or not podcasting is right for their classroom by reading articles about podcasting in education, and viewing examples of school created podcasts

Learners may also provide feedback to the author using the feedback form given.
