What is a Limerick? A limerick is a humorous five-line poem. The rhyme pattern is aabba.Lines 1, 2 and 5 containing 3 beats and rhyming, and lines 3 and 4 having two beats and rhyming.

Line 1: 3 beats. Rhymes with Line 2 &5
Line 2: 3 beats and rhymes with line 1 & 5
Line 3: 4 beats and rhymes with line 4
Line 4: 4 beats and rhymes with line 3
Line 5: 3 beats and rhymes with line 1 & 2
