Writing Your Own Acrostic

What is an Acrostic? The acrostic is a poem where the first letter of each line form a word when you read them looking downward. The word acrostic comes from the Greek word acros (outermost) and stichos (line of poetry).

For Example:

CLIMBING

Climb high onto the rock
Longing for the ledge
I am going to reach the top
My mind is mesmerized by the view
Belay, Belay,
I'll reach the top today
No turning back now
Gone
