PRESENT

I am a social studies teacher at Hyde Park High School in the South Side of Chicago. Hyde Park High School is not actually located in Hyde Park, but in Woodlawn. I am currently living with my wife Hallie, a science teacher at Canter Middle School, and my dog Jack. Hallie and I were married in St. Louis on August 17th, 2003. We have recently bought a condo in West Rogers Park. We also spent a week in Brazil for our honeymoon. This is where we spent most of our time in Brazil..

PAST

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with my parents Michael and Rosalee and my sister Alissa. The question St. Louisans seem to always ask is "Where did you go to high school?" so I guess I will go ahead and tell you that I attended Parkway North. I then went on to study history, political science, spanish, and a little religion in our nation's capital at The George Washington University. I graduated some time between May 1999 and May 2000 (there was a little issue of a paper not being turned in, and eventually having to take another course in the spring of 2000, but those are just minor details), and then went on to spend a fascinating year working as a legal assistant at the law firm of Arnold and Porter. While I met some pretty cool people there, the work was kind of lame, I lived in Crystal City, Virginia, and I haven't really kept in touch with anyone (except for Edie- Hi Edie!). I needed a change. I decided to go find myself. I sold or gave away most of my belongings (except for my books) and moved to a kibbutz in Israel where I became a beekeeper. Somehow, I have ended up in Chicago where I met my lovely wife, Hallie and earned a Master's degree in Education at Northwestern.
