The John Dewey Society encourages, through its publications and programs, careful and responsible examination of our most basic educational and cultural commitments. NEW MEMBERS receive a book-length publication of the annual John Dewey Lecture, published by Teachers College Press as these books become available. All members receive annual subscription to the Society's journals, Education and Culture (2 issues per year) and Insights (2 issues per year). New members also receive a copy of Crusade for Democracy: Progressive Education at the Crossroads by Daniel Tanner, published by SUNY Press (2002). Click here for membership form.
Members may also subscribe to Educational Theory at the special rate of $20.00 additional per year (or $40 additional for two years). International (non-US) members only may pay using PayPal. Please note that, due to complications having to do with convincing PayPal of our nonprofit status as an organization, PayPal has restricted our account from accepting money at this time. We are working to resolve this issue, and expect to have it resolved within a short period of time. Members of the American Educational Research Assocation (AERA) may join the Dewey Society on their AERA membership application by including the appropriate dues.
