This is a math unit. It will allow the students to go from the theoretical to the practical use of math concepts they have learned.

Students will learn how to calculate wages, figure taxes on purchases, balance a budget
and live within their means. The most important goal is to get students to realize the necessity of getting a good education, which will translate into a job that pays enough for a person to live comfortably in today's economic situation.

This unit incorporates two teaching methods that have been found to foster a high degree of student involvement and retention of educational objectives: hands-on learning and  cooperative learning.
