Overview Activity 1 Activity 2 Activity 3 Culminating Activity Teaching Guide

Activity 1: The Community

This activity involves the community and can be used along with Social Studies Unit. The idea is to take a camera along when you walk in the community and take pictures of places and people who are in the town. When returning to school the photos can be reviewed as a class and discussions can take place about the people and places you have pictured. Discussions can be about the importance of these people in the community. Do any of the students know people that work in these places? How do the people help us in the community? What if these people weren't here to help us?

Below are examples of pictures I have taken.
