ABOUT ME:
I am the K-2 computer lab manager at Wadsworth School since 2002. I began
teaching at Wadsworth in 1996 and have taught kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd
grades before becoming the lab manager. My interest in using technology
in education began when I took WIT in 1999. Since then, I have pursued
my M.Ed. in Technology in Education at National-Louis University.
ABOUT MY SCHOOL:
A major goal of Wadsworth School is improving the way we teach and use
technology to prepare our students for a technological and global society.
We are on the restructured day schedule and dedicate at least two of the
half-days to technology training for teachers. The rest of the teacher
support I provide is on a more informal basis. When the primary teachers
need assistance I try to help them when I have breaks. I also try to support
whatever the teachers are doing in the classroom with projects and activities
in the computer lab.
ABOUT MY STUDENTS:
My students are terrific children. They are all African-American.
Their ability levels vary quite a bit even at the kindergarten level, which
makes my job a challenge, but I love a challenge. So here's to another
year!
