I was born and raised in the inner city of Chicago. I graduated from a CPS high school where I had some wonderful teachers who inspired me to become a teacher myself. I then received my BA from University of Illinois at Chicago and my MEd from National-Louis University. I acquired a wonderful husband and three children some time during all this schooling. Free time? Well, there's not much of that, but I spend it all with my family. They are my hobby.

Some Sites I Like (There are many more.)

Scholastic It is a wonderful resource for teachers, students, and parent.

PBS kids Students love this web site which is very large. There are also teacher resources available to accompany the site.

Professional Information

I have been the computer lab manager at Wadsworth School for the kindergarten through third grade students since the fall of 2002. I have been a teacher at Wadsworth for eight years. I also manage the Wadsworth School web site with a co-worker. Previous to that I taught fifth grade at a private school for two years.

WIT Goals

I want to do a curriculum web that will be geared for the second and third graders. Because I know that they love animals, I decided to do a curriculum web that would capitalize on that interest. I also would like to tie in the annual field trip that most of the classes take to the zoo. My goal is to make this curriculum web cross-curricular. I think I will be able to teach many technology skills, design, reading, science, and math. I have ideas for some of this, but tying it all together into one theme is challenging. I do not want to make a collection of unrelated activities.
