Introduction

It is the beginning of a new school year and you want to form new friendships.  In the past you have noticed that forming new friendships has been difficult not only for you but also for your former classmates. Can the computer help?

The Task

You want to learn  more about your classmates. Which ones have the same interest, goals, hobbies, etc... as you do? You want to tell them Who You Are.  You want to find out Who They Are. Your classmates and you have decided each one is going to type a  short paragraph about him/herself on their own computer using a word processing program, and, as a bonus, each one will include a picture of themselves in their document.

You will then print out your respective document, give an oral presentation on the process of creating the friendship document, read the friendship document aloud, and assist in creating a friendship photo book with text.

In order to complete the project you will need to:

1. Read the Online Sources:
A.  Open the word processing program
B.  Insert picture
C.  Paragraph information
D.  Save the document
E.  Print
F.  Exit the word processing program

2. Complete the following activities:

A. Have one of your classmates take a digital picture of you
B. Fill out the Who Am I form
C. Get your computer workstation location

The Process


1.   Open the word processing program
2.   Insert a picture of yourself (resize picture if necessary) in your
      word processing document
3.   Write a short paragraph about yourself using the Who
      Am I worksheet
4.   Save your document
5.   Print your document
6.   Exit the word processing program
7.   Prepare/rehearse your oral presentation
8.   Give your oral presentation to the class
9.   Hand in your printed document
