about "ME" |
| Teachers Guide | |
| Hi. My name is Karon Stewart. I teach Math Technology at the School of the Arts @ South Shore. It is part of the High School redesign initiative. Our building is called a "multiplex" because there are five schools housed at South Shore. I like to compare our campus to a university setting. Although each school has it's own focus, we all still have the same goals, and that is to provide quality educational experiences to students in the South Shore area. Next year, I will be on the Freshman team. I am honored to be selected to teach freshman because we believe that freshman need a strong team. They are just beginning their high school careers and it will be our responsibility to get them off to a good start. If you click on All about ME, you will be lead to a list of web sites. I am very proud to have participated in the activities that are featured on these sites (although several of the sites are not about me). I am also a dues paying member of the Bike Federation and attend community forums about bike riding in Chicago. I feel it is my civic responsibility to add my voice to issues that may become public policy. My next endeavor is to participate in a Triathlon. Over the years, I have developed the philosophy that a well rounded person has academic, athletic, as well as artistic pursuits. I am very grateful to CPS and the University of Chicago for providing this opportunity to attend the Web Institute for Teachers. Asante Sana
