Purpose of the class

To train students in the advanced uses and proper formatting in word processing, spreadsheet, publication, presentation, and data base software. Microsoft Office is use: Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Access. Inspiration is introducded and used as a graphic organized and outline maker. The Internet is used for research and search strategies are taught. Movie Maker, Photoshop Elements, and Audacity are also used in preparing for presentations.

 

Course Content

Correct keyboarding will be expected and practiced in all projects. Projects in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access will prepare students for the District Technology Proficiency Test given at the end of the semester. These skills are outlined on the district site.

Grades

Extra Credit is given to those who are faithful daily in their classroom work and yet need more practice. It is not designed for those who want to make up for inappropriate use of class time.

2. Student Reflection Form and teacher conference with student. (Mail copy home.)

3. Parent contact. (Conference, phone call, e-mail)

4. Detention issued/Restitution made. Copy sent home. (Team, lunch or after school)

5. Team conference. (Student, counselor, office staff, etc., as needed & appropriate)

6. Office referral. (Referral copy sent home by office)
