Movie Maker: an overview

NOTE: Whenever you see this icon you can click on it for more information. If nothing happens, you need to turn off your popup blocker (Click 'Tools' on your menu bar, then 'Pop-up Blocker', then 'Turn off Pop-up Blocker. This will not effect the security on your computer.) Words I think might be new to you are listed in the glossary. You can go to the definition just by clicking on the word.

The Program

Windows Movie Maker is a FREE program that comes with Windows. That means that if you have Windows, you have Movie Maker. Movie Maker makes it easy and fun to make your own movie. With Movie Maker, you can create, edit, and share your movies right on your computer with a few simple drag-and-drops. You can save your movie to your computer, a flash drive, or a CD.

The Process

I recommend that you go step by step through this web. At the bottom of each page you will find two things: a rubric for self-evaluation, and a link to take you to the next step. I recommend that if you don't score well on a rubric you go back and fix the problem before moving on.

Before you start you need to open Movie Maker. Leaving this page open, find and open the program from the 'Accessories' section of the 'Programs' list in your Start Menu.

To go back and forth between the two programs, you can click on the icons on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, or you can key 'Alt-Tab'
