W.E.B. DuBois was born on February 23, 1868 in Great Barrington Massachusetts. DuBois was the first African American to receive a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1896. Between 1897 and 1814 DuBois conducted numerous studies of black society in American publishing 16 research papers. At the turn of the century DuBois had been a supporter of black capitalism. By 1905 he had been drawn to socialist ideas and remained sympathetic to Marxism throughout his life. In 1961 DuBois became completely disillusioned with the United States. August 27, 1963, on the eve of the March on Washington, DuBois died in Accra, Ghana, shortly after becoming a Ghanan citizen.
VICTORIA'S BIOGRAPHY
Hi my name is Victoria . I’m twelve years old in the sixth grade. I love to sing, act, and dance I weight 130 pounds and my height is probably about five three or five four. I’m the oldest out of all my little sisters and brothers but I have one older brother. When I grow up I want to produce loads and I want to have my own career and be an actor and a singer. Some of my goals are to go off to collage an be in the band I want to be one of the pom pom girls well there captain in the band and the last thing is I also want to be an delta girl. I will be thirteen this year on November 8. I’m very popular around my house I have over sixty friends that I grew up with. But I don’t like making friends at school because it’s like I’m starting to have to make friends all over again and that something I do not want to do. My favorite singers are Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, and Trina. I could do a lot of things that people my age cannot do like cook very, well baby sit little kids with out hitting them when they do something wrong and I could also can do hair really well. I’m getting good grades in school and I’m not all of that talkative, well, put it like this -- not in school.
